How does the Shepherd Cooling Harness work?

Our patented harness uses swappable gel inserts that target your dog’s key thermoregulation zones. The inserts cool through conduction, helping reduce core temperature without soaking or mess.

How long do the cooling inserts last?

Each gel insert, depending on size, provides up to 60 minutes depending on conditions. Inserts can be swapped out mid-use, so you can carry extras for longer periods.

Does the harness actually prevent heat stress?

Yes. The harness was developed to actively reduce core temperature and visable signs of heat stress, especially after exertion or in extreme temperatures.

Field-tested by K9 handlers, owrking dog units, and veterinarians, Shepherd has already prevented overheating in real-world cases.

Will there be other sizes in the future?

Absolutely. Shepherd Australia is dedicated to protecting dogs of all shapes and sizes from heat stress. We're working on expanding our range to include Small and Extra Large harnesses, so more dogs can benefit from our cooling technology. Stay tuned, they're coming.

Tactical vs Lite

What’s the difference between the Tactical and Lite harness?

Tactical is built for working dogs, with Cobra buckles, two silcone moulded handles, MOLLE attachments, and heavy-duty materials. Lite is streamlined to one silicone moulded handle and made for everyday pets. Both use the same cooling insert system. Lite is currently Expressions Of Interest only.

Inserts + Care

How do I freeze and insert the gel packs?

Freeze the inserts flat for 4-6 hours. Then slip them into the mesh pockets inside the harness. It takes seconds, no soaking required.

Can I wash the harness?

Yes. Remove the inserts and hand wash the harness using cool water and mild soap. Air dry before reusing.

Absolutely. We offer tracked Australia-wide and International shipping. Rates are shown at checkout.

USA Orders (DDP – Duties Included)
US orders ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). That means duties + customs clearance are prepaid and included at checkout, so your order won’t be held or hit with surprise fees on delivery.
