SHEPHERD was born out of a love for dogs.
SHEPHERD™ desires to protect them, especially when they’re on the job. We design products that improve the wellbeing of our hard-working canines, leveraging decades of hands-on experience to create healthier, safer working conditions for tactical dogs even in the hottest, harshest environments.
Our flagship product, the SHEPHERD™ Cooling Harness, is an innovative, performance-based tactical harness designed to keep working dogs from overheating.
In collaboration with an award-winning industrial design agency, the SHEPHERD™ Cooling Harness was developed using research-based evidence on proven cooling techniques, high-quality materials and a multifunctional design. The result is a tactical harness product that not only saves lives and can keep up with active dogs and their owners, but looks good while doing it.
After spending more than two decades working with canines, we founded SHEPHERD™️. We show up to work every day to create innovative products and solutions that improve the wellbeing of dogs and their humans. We’re in the business of prevention and are committed to educating owners and providing solutions that help save dogs’ lives. We understand the needs of working dogs even in the most physically demanding situations, because we’ve been there.
Matt Grace

SHEPHERD™ is the result of more than two decades working with dogs in both a personal and professional capacity. Founder Matt Grace is a qualified service dog handler, breeder and trainer and has spent the past 14 years working as a law enforcement dog handler with the Police force in Australia.
In 2012, Matt’s Police dog, Fox, suffered a serious case of heat stress, almost losing his life. Thanks to Matt’s quick actions, Fox survived; but the experience led Matt to realise there was nothing on the market that could effectively prevent the risk of heat stroke in working dogs.
And from there, SHEPHERD™ was born.
