We are SHEPHERD
Dogs Overheat. We Solved It.
Shepherd was born from operational experience. Built for dogs that work in the heat.
Designed by a Queensland Police Dog Handler and canine professional, Shepherd exists to solve a serious problem: working dogs overheating in Australian conditions.
From high-risk deployments to long summer training sessions, heat is not optional. Preparation is.
Our patented cooling harness system is engineered around how dogs actually regulate temperature.
No water soaking. No gimmicks.
Swappable gel inserts positioned at key heat zones to reduce stress and maintain performance.
Tested by Police and Correctional K9 units.
Recognised with a Good Design Award for Innovation.
Built for handlers who refuse to settle for “good enough.”
Because when it’s 38 degrees and the pavement is burning, your dog’s gear should be mission-ready.
Matt Grace
Founder
SHEPHERD™ is the result of more than two decades working with dogs in both a personal and professional capacity. Founder Matt Grace is a qualified service dog handler, breeder and trainer and has spent the past 14 years working as a law enforcement dog handler with the Police force in Australia.
In 2012, Matt’s Police dog, Fox, suffered a serious case of heat stress, almost losing his life. Thanks to Matt’s quick actions, Fox survived; but the experience led Matt to realise there was nothing on the market that could effectively prevent the risk of heat stroke in working dogs.
And from there, SHEPHERD™ was born.
